when i run chkdsk its warning no f parameter set running
in read mode only . how do i set the f parameter? anyones
help would be appreciated!!!! Thanks , Tim

Start/Run/and then type CHKDSK /
You need to restart windows to run this command

Hi, Tim.

You don't necessarily want the /f parameter. The message is not really a
warning; it's just informing you. Without the /f, ChkDsk will check the
disk and report onscreen what it finds. Usually, there's no problem, so
ChkDsk just reports and quits. If it does find a problem, you can run it
again with chkdsk /f (or /r) and it will attempt to repair any problem that
it finds.

As with most commands in the "DOS" window, type chkdsk /? to see a mini-Help
file for that command, showing all the parameters available with it and what
they do.
