Hi: Running win2000 professional
I was running norton's "speed disk" to degrag the C drive, when it stopped
and said "run chkdsk/r".
How do I get a msdos command line on win2000 to run chkdsk? Or is there
some other way to run it?

Sound like you have a hard drive you should consider changing before it
breaks completely.

Anyway, it is not really a MS-DOS command line, Windows 2000 has a
command processor that is an ordinary Windows application builtin. Click
Start -> Run and type cmd and click ok.

To check the C: drive type
chkdsk c: /r
It will ask you if it is ok to check the volume the next time the system
is restarted, answer y and reboot the computer.
