On my Vista HPsp1, HP laptop, chkdsk is running a majority of the times it
boot ups. It appears to find no problems.

Is this indicative of something bad about to happen? Or does this indicate
something else?

Worried,
Danno

Thank you for the help. I checked the link you sent, and wound up having to
open 3 more links. So it may take me awhile to wade through it all. I will
let you know the results, however.

Problem solved. Long story, short. I had just been letting chkdsk run at
system startup with no options. Doing something else, it asked if I wanted
to run chkdsk with all the options. I did. It found and repaired a sector!
Not only has chkdsk stopped running at boot up, but the 'puter is actually
running better.

Thanks for the help, at least I learned something,
Danno
