chkdsk on partitioned drive

if i have my drive partitioned into 3

C
F
G

if i open command line and typwe

chkdsk /f

it says do you want to perform chkdsk on this volume the next time you oad
windows

i choose yes

my query

does this perform a chkdsk only on the C partition where windows is
installed or on all three partitions

if i wanted to chkdsk on the F or G drive how would i do that?

any help much appreciated

Run "chkdsk /?" to list the help.

This performs a check for and fixes any found problems on your boot
partition (C:) only.

In order to run checkdisk on the other partitions you have to run it and
indicate the drives you want- you can only do one each time.

for example, to check your F: drive and fix any erros found type;
chkdsk F: /f

or to check you g: ;
chkdsk G: /f

Also, you may want to add a /r switch for a deeper scan, for example;
chkdsk F: /f /r

Chkdsk will run on the partition where you are located when you invoke
it.

For instance...

If yer on the F partition, chkdsk will do a check disk for the F
partition. If you want to check the C partition from that location,
you must put in the location parameter for the C partition...chkdsk c:

try chkdsk /x

Include the drive parameter in the command line...as...

chkdsk f:

or

chkdsk g:

I always run the R parameter...chkdsk c: /r

Go to your command line and run...

chkdsk /?

for more info.
