chkdsk runs everytime my computer boots & scans my 'd'
drive, a 2nd hard drive which contains my documents. as i
use a usb keyboard i am unable to abort the process. it
results in a 'dirty' boot which seems to prevent icons for
software running from appearing in the system tray. i have
to log off & back on to see them.
Help please, it's driving me demented

Hi,

hmmm, well i do not know why it only scan checks one
drive? I am quite unsure, but maybe becuase that drive
did not close down before the other one?

With my computer i have noticed that if i switch off my
computer using the power on/off button, it still shuts
down, saves settings etc. But it does scan check when i
boot up again. Maybe a rushed shutdown? Try shuting down
through the start menu, if you already don't
