"Chkdsk cannot run"

I keep getting the following:

"Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would
you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system
restarts? (Y/N)"

I typed Y and restarted--nothing.
 
Sorry I did not see the rest of your problem. I see that you have try this. Try Last good known configuration to see if it will fix this problem.
