I have a dual boot setup with win98 on the 1st disk(c)
win2000 on the second disk(d)and several programs on the
third disk(e) such as partition magic etc. I also have
several backup copies of autocad, winxp, some sp's and
other misc. files on this disk.I ran chkdisk on each drive
and sometime later noticed that my "e" drive consisted
of one directory called Found.000 containing file001.chk
thru file0143.chk
When I check the properties of these files, which vary in
size, they are either just "general- type:chk file, or
they also have version tabs containing the program names
of most of the programs that were on the drive. What
happened, and is there any way to restore these files?
I would appreciate any information or solutions.
Could they be lost fragment files, and if so is there
any way to restore them? This drive had been defragged,
copied to and from, and programs ran without any problems
until I ran chkdisk. I think I checked the box that said
fix automaticly, and the one that said save lost fragments
as files.
Thanks,
