Hi Jim, sorry to hear about your problem, but i think I may be able to help.
It seems to me that your MBR may be damaged. MBR being your Master Boot
Record. What you may want to try first is to gain acces via the "Safe Mode"
booting option. What you do is this, when you first turn on your PC,
immediately start tapping the F8 key to gain access to the booting option
menu.If you succed in gaining access to this menu, then you're not as bad off
as I think you are. In this menu you will have diffrent boot options, start
at the top and work your way down. If after this you still can't gain acces
to your operating system, then you might want try downloading a handy little
gem called "Hirens Ultimate Boot CD". You can Google it or you can look it up
in www.phazeddl.com, just type in Hiren's Boot CD. This cd contains some very
usefull utlities. Several being programs that can help yo recreate your MBR.
well hope this helps.
