checksum failure

For a few days now...every single time I start my
computer....there is a prompt saying "Checksum failure.
This executable is corrupt. Obtain a new copy." and it
won't even say which executable. One more problem....my
system restore doesn't want to restore to a lot of the
previous checkpoints and gives me a message "Restoration
incomplete". Not sure how to fix those 2 problems. I need
help. Thanks.
 
Turn restore off and then back on. This does a reset and you loose your old
points, but you have no choice.
