Hello,

I use adaware and Spybot for detecting spyware on my PC.
But It has to be already installed for detection.
Is there an online/offline list of known spyware apps
or browser addins? ( for IE, MyIE2 e.g. ) ?

Doesn't Spybot have an "immunize" feature?

An extensive database (searchable) of known spyware is available here

For sure it has, but I want to prevent my time, bandwidth and money
for even downloading such apps to realize after being spyware :-)

Er.. spybot and spywareblaster stop Activex used on a website to install
adware and spyware from running. Would adware/spyware installed
by downloading a program onto your comp use activex to install such crap?
Eg Try installing Kazza....
