Hi - I have gone into options to tell it to check every 1 minute....but this does not seem to happen - I have to keep pressing F5 to get it to check for incoming and outgoing...

How can I get it to just do this automaticall whenever I am online??

I have Outlook 97

Setting this option to one minute is a *really* bad idea and is unrealistic.
Do you really believe that any mail that you receive is important enough
that it needs to be seen that quickly? If so, how do you possibly sleep? <g>
The minimum length of time for polling for new mail should be 10 minutes.

thanks for your "sage" advice sgtrich..

the problem is, I want any new mail to pop up and notify
me while I am online,(is this too unrealistic to expect?)
and I want to know why if I decide to have in options, the
checking for new emails set at 1 min, why is it not doing
it?....

Can anyone shed any light on this for me???
As stated below, whenever I want to check for any new
mail - I need to hit F5......

You need to post your mail account type and connection type for anyone to
answer your question.

You could try setting your connection to "LAN" and then it should be fairly
automatic. It's been a LONG time since I've worked with Outlook 97, though,
so I may be a bit rusty.

Yes, setting one minute polling times to check for new mail *is*
unrealistic. Ask around.
