Checking File System at Start up

Hi all,

I'm getting this annoying error everytime i start up my
Win2000 Pro pc. I keep getting a message "Checking Files
System" and I runs for about 10 minutes adn my computer
starts and really slow. Sometime it restart itself.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

There may be a serious file system or even a hardware problem on your
drive. It appears that your system is able to start up stometimes. Look
in the system event log file for events 7, 9, 11 or 15 with a source of
a storage component. Also I would boot from the Windows 2000 CD to
Recovery Console and run Chkdsk /r.
