I have a CD with a scratch. Is there a Check Disk feature
in Windows XP to see if this scratch is serious? Thanks!

Windows XP has a "Checkdisk" error-checking utility that replaced
the old "Scandisk" utility in previous versions of Windows.

Utilize the following utility programs at least monthly:

It's not advisable to run chkdsk on a CD or even scandisk this is
specifically meant for use on a hard drive and hard drives are vastly
different from CDs. If you have a CD burning application such as Easy CD
Creator, it does have a utility for this purpose.

Opps! Read that post to quickly. :-(

Easiest but timeconsuming way is to copy the CD (Nero - copy CD functon) -
This will acheive two things
1/ will answer your question (check for errors - the data read will fail if
it can't read it).
2/ If it CAN read, will give you a perfect copy of it, before further damage
occurs
