Checking a table exists??

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to check that a table exists in a
Access 2000 backend before attempting to link to that
table from a front end? I have code that deletes and then
recreates a linked table (I could not get
the 'Refreshlink' to work) depending on which backend you
choose to work on.
