checkin/checkout problem

My sister uses frontpage to edit pages on my server, W2KS with both FP2000
and 2002 extensions.

Helen 'checked out' a page on her old PC and threw it in the trash where it
belonged but cannot now modify that page using her new PC.

What's the correct way to reset checkin/checkout status on the server
please?

TIA

Disable the function on the extensions at the server.

version control on the server has been changed to 'none' but still the
problem persists. Maybe you could be a little more specific.

Try running Recalculate Hyperlinks and on the client, look under Tools | Web
Settings for the option to not use Document Check in/out.

tks Thomas,
I'll get Helen to recalculate if the problem persists. I have this
feeling that after version control had been turned off on the server and
checkin/out had been turned off on the client Helen may not have closed FP
and I may need to restart IIS. Do you know whether both these steps may be
required?

Next thing she'll be asking is for me to enable it again, -sigh-.

again, tks

Actually, I have never had a need to use this.

If she is the only one working on the site, she should need to use this
option.

That would seem obvious to most people. Then Helen goes to the office and
wants to update some pages during her luch break :-)
