Checkdisk Error

When I run Checkdisk, it shows that it runs through Phase 1 and then gets all the way to the end of Phase 2 and gives me a message that "Windows is unable to complete disk check." What is going on? I am on a new Dell that is barely over a month old!
 
Try to stop all programs running in background, even screensave and viruscheck, and then start checkdisk.
