checkbox in report view

Nobody answered my previous question, so I'll take a moment to elaborate and
see if it will get someone to help me with my issue.

We are an office of 75 people, and everyone has customers and clients coming
and going in the office. So I thought I would create an appt ctr database so
that staff could enter their data concerning their guests (whens, wheres, how
to direct them, etc.). The receptionist could then pull up a report view
that shows all the guests coming in for that day and know who's coming in and
how to direct them. There are a lot of checkboxes in the table and form, and
of course in the report view, including disposition of the
guest/customer/client (i.e., appt canceled, rescheduled, no show, etc.).
What I would like to do is make the boxes in the daily report view
interactive, meaning, when the receptionist pulls up the report view, she can
check off the boxes from the report view instead of going into the form and
doing a search for that customer.

Does anyone have any idea how I can make the checkboxes in the report view
checkable?

Thank you for any help I can get with this. (Access 2007)

As far as I know, you cannot make anything on a report interactive. You use a
form for changing data.

But I can put a button on the report for navigation purposes making it
interactive.

Do you have a suggestion on how to change it so that I have a summary
similar to a report and have interactive checkboxes?

Sorry, reports are not interactive.
You will need to use your form to change any records shown on the
report.

Ok, so in Access 2007 if you are in Report view you can have some interaction.
You cannot change the data in the tables as far as I know.
