Assistance for ATI graphic card users who are
not sure what the card has or has not.

Go here http://ati.amd.com/technology/WindowsVista/AreYouVistaReady.html
scroll down, accept the ULA and run the program.

I found it very informative for graphics card asalysis.

This may have been posted before but if not, give it a go.

Hope this helps.

Interesting but it doesn't make sense except for selling an upgraded
card!

It put my ATI Radeon 9600 card in the first PASS tab but if you go to
the BETTER tab it meets every requirement:

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Video Card

Better: 128 MB 100% DirectX 9 graphic card with Pixel Shader 2.0
hardware support (ATI Radeon X800 series or better)

You Have: RADEON 9600 Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM) ()

Upgrade Recommended: Sorry, your video card does not meet this
requirement. Upgrading to a more powerful video card will make all your
applications look better. Click the 'We Recommend' button to see some
great options.

Video Card Features - Minimum attributes of your Video Card
Video RAM: Required - 128 MB , You have - 131.0 MB
Video Card 3D Acceleration: Required - Yes , You have - Yes
Video HW Transform & Lighting: Required - Yes , You have - Yes
Vertex Shader Ver.: Required - 2.0 , You have - 2.0
Pixel Shader Ver.: Required - 2.0 , You have - 2.0

Did the same with my set up using a GeForce 6100. Declared I'd do
better with a system which would support a PCI-X16 bus (the card is a
PCI-X16)... I mean I know I could upgrade that card, but, gosh it will
be difficult to install a PCI-X16 bus to replace the existing PCI-X16
bus which doesn't meet the requirement of being a PCI-X16 bus.....

Disappointing -- I didn't expect AMD/ATI to get involved in that kind
of misleading stuff.
