check instance running

My application will call another application and would like check is
it running or not.
Are there any function to check the instance already running?

I use a calling mdb to call the mdb.
It activate the calling mdb, but not called mdb.
Is it possible to activate the called mdb instead of calling mdb?

Yes, I called and run mdb to prevent multi instance for my original
question and I want to close the application when user close calling
application.

I'm sorry, I simply am not understanding you. Maybe if you explain in much
more detail, I would understand, or maybe if you post your question in a new
