I was just given a Lexmark Z715, where is the cheapest place to buy
cartridges?

(online and/or store)

I haven't ever owned a Lexmark, but have discovered that at least some
"cheap" chain store brand cartridges for my Epson printer clogged the
heads so much most of the ink got used up flushing the clogs out of the
print head. I have MUCH less trouble with the printer manufacturer's
cartridges.

Lexmark are very good printers but the ink is very expensive. For the
price of 2 Lexmark ink cartridges I bought cheap HP PSC.

Just bought 2 genuine HP replacement ink cartridges from OfficeMax, with
the $6US discount trade-in of 2 used cartridges it cost $20US for the 2
cartridge pack plus they threw in a free (worth $24) package of HP photo
print paper.

I think the reviewers mostly have the thing pegged. Scroll down. 4 reviews.

"Most low cost printers are designed to use a lot of ink"

Whether it is worthwhile running, may depend on what you are going to
print with it. For run of the mill hardcopy, a laser printer might
be cheaper to run.

No heaving duty printing, mostly "how to guides" an occasional
picture.

I can't find them (takes 2) for under $20.00 a piece online, and that
doesn't include shipping.

Yes, that's how they make their $. You either pay around
that much or find some generics and test them till you find
one that works acceptibly (though Lexmark was one of the
companies a bit more aggressive about preventing generics
use and pursuing those who made generics).

As another poster already mentioned, in the long run it'll
be cheaper to get a B&W laser, if you can accept B&W
printing. Might even be cheaper to buy a color laser if you
did enough volume to offset the high initial and replacement
toner cartridge costs (hundreds of dollars to replace all 4
cartridges, actually one business class color laser I have
costs about $1000 to replace all 4), and though color laser
print quality has increased in the past few years it is
still less photorealistic than a good inkjet.
