Not Me

Hi,

I've an ageing radeon 7500 (oem) which never did run perfectly (crashes
often, corrupts screen from time to time) and now it's got a lot worse.

I'm only looking for a cheap replacement, and wondered what kind of
performance a 64mb hercules 9100 would give me - they seem very cheap and I
wondered if they would be better than my 7500.

Also would there be any agp compatibility issues? the 9100 may not be a new
card but my system is getting a little long in the tooth. (duron 1200/mobo
of similar age)

Cheers,
Chris

Mobo should be okay.

Hmm in general, the 9100 should be faster (it's an 8500). It just depends a
bit on the version (pro, non pro, SE) if it will be much faster, faster, or
equal (in that order)

ATI 9100, that's what I had before replacing it with a 9600 PRO AIW.
I think the 9100 is the best bang for the buck.
Should work fine in your system.

Just buy a good brand and check the reviews first. The 9100 or an 8500 will
be a nice step up for sure, better than a 9200 in most cases too and a lot
cheaper.
