2 $25 $275
5 $40 $440
10 $75 $825

I suspect, due to your tone, that you are purely money-orientated. Not
good.

How often do you back up the data? At those prices, I would expect a
daily backup, to media situated in nuclear-proof bunkers with full
redundant power supply, etc. (With off-site copies, of course. Just in
case.)

Well, I would be lying if I wasn't purely money oriented. I have the
server and the bandwidth...why not try to have it pay for itself? So
I'm guessing your business is in data recovery just to see people
smile? I'm guessing not.

As the site states, the data is backed up every night. I can't believe
you're complaining about my prices. Most people offer similar prices
for 1/8 of the storage I'm offering. Had I been PURELY money oriented,
I would charge that, but I'm not looking to get rich quick, just to
make some cash back.

Got any examples? The nearest thing I can think of is xdrive.com,
which gives you 5gb for free, that you charge $40/month for.

And you mention that your net connection is just 1 mbps. Do you
seriously expect anyone to backup multiple gigabytes of data every
night over that? It sounds like one client with a cable modem can
pretty much hose your whole connection.

I also notice that a whole dedicated server with 750 gb of monthly
transfer (10 mbps connection) and 80gb of drive space is $69/month at
ev1servers.net. With unlimited transfer, it's $200/month. Your
asking $125/mo to store 20 gb doesn't sound so great by comparison.

I don't have anything against your trying to offer a worthwhile
service, but I think the economics aren't anything like what you seem
to imagine.

Something like that. He got bored of being retired.
I'm guessing not.

So his clients pay for his new hobby.

As I said, I have this vserver with additional Backup and 15GB
for 14.80 EUR/Month. And that is including a server, not just
storage. For your Price I could get 6 of them with different
vendors and use them for redundancy....

Hahaha. Did I mention that my vserver has >5Mbit/sec real, i.e. I
get it when I transfer?

It sounds very, very expensive.

Maybe there are enough unionformed people to make this work...

Actually, people *do* smile when they see my prices.

I've no problem with trying to make a little money out of what you have
- but your pricing is so seriously extortionate that it's clear you
haven't researched what other companies are charging for the same thing
- and some of those companies *do* have underground, bomb-proof bunkers!
