I want to copy my hard drive using Drive Image which
advises me to use CHKDSK/F from a command line, could
anyone explain what this means and how to execute it

Hi Rab,

From within WinXP, start/run "cmd"
Then from the prompt run "chkdsk C: /f" and follow the prompts to do this
during a reboot. You will not be able to dismount the drive while it is in
use, so it must be done during a restart.

Outside of WinXP, boot the WinXP CD and load the recovery console, you can
run "chkdsk C: /f" from the run prompt.
