Chassis intruded... ! - Message?

Hi, i have a K8N motherboard showing a very strange behavior with
the chassis intrusion detection at startup.

I usually disconnect my pc completely from the power supply when
not in use. Every time when i switch it on, i get the "Chassis
intruded... !" message and the pc stops. After i reboot the pc by
pushing the reset button, everything works fine. But starting the
pc always twice is not very convinient...

The chassis intrusion jumper on the board is set correctly.
I have updated the BIOS to the latest version (1005-016) and
cleared the CMOS-RAM several times. But without success...

Any ideas or similar experiences?

If you're using the chassis intrusion feature then check the switch (or is
the jumper directly over the pins a switch would connect to). If this
applies then try replacing the jumper with another and check that it is
actually connecting the two pins together (perhaps with a multimeter). Is
there a reset option in the bios specifically for chassis intrusion - what
does the manual say? When you plug the machine in are all of the BIOS
settings always retained - I'm thinking that even though this is a fairly
new board, it may have a defective battery on it if you notice settings
being lost. Most people leave PCs plugged in these days (even if they're not
turned on) and with modern motherboards that means they're always receiving
power (although only a very small amount is used when the machine is off).
If leaving it plugged in when its not running solves the problem then that
would tend to confirm its battery related. In these circumstances if a
replacement battery doesn't solve it, then Tyans help will be needed.

You say you "cleared the CMOS-RAM several times"; afterward did you then go
into BIOS setup and disable the intrusion detection? On my A7V400-MX, I
believe the default BIOS setting is intrusion detection ENABLED. If you're
not using it, this needs to be changed manually to DISABLED. If you do this,
it won't matter if the jumper is bad or missing (or there's a flaw in the
circuit path on the board, etc...)

Thanks for your reply, Paul.

Unfortunately, there is no option in the BIOS settings available
to enable or disable the chassis intrusion detection.
So far no problems regarding the battery. All settings keep their
states. Nevertheless, i will try a new battery...

Unfortunately, no option for enabling or disabling the chassis intrusion
detection available on this board. :-(.
 
Reading the manual for A7V400-MX, it is "Case Open Warning" on Basic Setup
