Charts in reports

I am trying to build a chart where the data comes from a query. I have
tried this in forms and in reports. I am using the chart wizard and all
works great. I do a preview and it is exactly what I want. I finalize the
chart wizard and then appears the chart that is completely irrelevant to my
data. It has east west north south etc shown. Sometime it has quarters
shown.

I have no idea where the wizard is getting this data but it is not from my
query.

Any ideas.

Thanks

From a similar post answered in this newsgroup yesterday.....

Create your chart first on a form.
After you get it properly set up, copy and paste it into your report.
It will then show the correct data in design view.

Fred, I have tried this on both forms and in reports. When I do it on
forms I get the same results. Data that belongs something that does not
come from my query.

Thanks

Also from the same thread yesterday:
"The other method is to view your report in design view and open the
datasheet view of the chart's Row Source. Select and copy the datasheet view
and then close the Row Source.

Open the chart design and view the chart's meager datasheet. Paste the
chart's Row Source records over (replace) the chart's datasheet"
