Taco

Hello,

I want to have a custum animation with my chart.
Help tells me what to do :

"Apply an animation to the chart.
How?

If you want to make the text or object enter the slide
show presentation with an effect, point to Entrance and
then click an effect.
If you want to add an effect to text or an object that is
on the slide, point to Emphasis and then click an
effect.
If you want to add an effect to text or an object that
makes it leave the slide at some point, point to Exit
and then click an effect.
In the Custom Animation task pane, select the animation
you applied to the chart, click the down arrow, and then
click Effect Options.
On the Chart Animation tab, in the Group Chart list,
click an option."
But the GROUP CHART LISTS" only contains : as one
object.

What should i do to create a custom chart animation

Thank you

Taco,
Only certain types of charts offer multiple animation effects, barcharts and
piecharts. If there is nothing in the list than you can only apply as one
object. Alternatively you could ungroup your chart which allows you to
animate each individual item of the chart but can be a pain to complete and
which will of course cut loose your link to the graph.

Try choosing a different kind of animation effect, and see if the additional
options become available. Not all of them can animate individual categories
or series...

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

Because of the type of information provided by different style charts, the
options available for animating a chart will vary depending on the type of
chart and the type of animation effect chosen. So the workarounds include:

* Trying different combinations of chart types and animation effects until
you can get one that suits your needs.
* Convert the chart to Microsoft Office Drawing objects (by ungrouping) and
animate the objects individually (instead of chart).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that PowerPoint should
provide more options for animating all types of charts, don't forget to
send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:
