Chart Type Column

How do I make Columns appear instead of the Square look more like a Round
almost cylinder type?

And still be able to maintain the ablility to use the Color Effects Gradielne
tab

If you use a cylinder chart, you can't use a gradient fill.

But if you use a 2D column chart, you can apply a gradient fill that makes
the column look kind of rounded. So right-click the data series, choose
format data series, then fill effects, then gradient tab, then Vertical,
then choose the lower right gradient. It's darker on both sides, and that
gives it the rounded look.
