No offence. Wrong computer clock in previous email. I re-post the message.

I am using Access 97 report - chart type. After the creation thru wizards,
the report preview sometimes show the normal chart and sometimes show the 4
quarter - East, West and North chart which I have no idea where it comes
from. On the design view, it always show the 4 quarter charts instead of my
normal chart. It is strange. Please help. Thanks.

I don't know much about charts, because I've never really had occasion
to use them. As far as I can tell, the "4 quarter - East, West and
North chart" that you're seeing is probably sample data that is inherent
in the chart object, intended to be displayed only when the actual chart
data isn't available. Fooling around with a simple chart that I threw
together just now, I've been able to get it to behave the way you
describe -- showing that dummy chart intermittently.

I think the problem is the one described by this Microsoft KnowledgeBase
article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;304898
ACC2002: Chart Intermittently Displays Sample Data

The trouble is, that article says the problem was fixed by Office XP
Service Pack 1, but my installation of Office is at SP2 and I'm still
seeing the problem. Still, make sure that your copy of Office has had
all the patches applied. If it hasn't, bring it completely up to date
and see if the problem disappears.
