Chart Format

I have two charts. Both have Dates as the Category Axis. The
distance from the date to the bottom border on Chart1 is about 1/4".
The distance from the date to the bottom border on Chart2 is about
2". Both charts have the same font, etc.

How do I adjust the distance from the date to the bottom of the chart
border?
 
If you click in the main part of the chart you will see a box with
handles on the corners and sides - you can drag the bottom one down to
adjust the size. Also, you can right-click on the axis and choose
Format Axis to adjust the scale/font applied to the axis - I usually
de-select auto-scale and set a fixed font size for all graphs.

No, that doesn't do it. Dragging the handles changes the chart size,
but the distance from the date to the handles remains the same.
 
Well, there are so many variables that could affect the way that your
graph looks that it is difficult to hit on exactly what needs to be
changed to get it right.

If you are happy with the first graph you could click on it, then CTRL-
C to copy it, move the cursor elsewhere on your sheet and CTRL-V to
paste it there. Then with this third graph you can change the source
data to point to the data ranges for your second graph, and you will
have a direct copy of the parameters used for that first graph. Then
you can delete the second graph and move the third one to where you
want it.

Good call, Pete. That worked fine, but I still can't figure out what
was causing my original problem.
