What is the secret behind the data series labels on a
chart?

I have changed the captions in the chart row source SQL
query many times and it does not stay and show up
correctly with the chart.

I usually end up with: SumOfNextYear
Instead of: Next Year

The query that the report comes from has correct captions
but I can not change it with the chart?!?!?!?!

HELP!!!

If you use the chart wizard to create the charts, when you drag the
row onto the axis, by default it wants to Sum the row, therefore it
gives it a title of SumOfXXXX.
Double-click on that row title and select NONE.
