Characters in FrontPage

Thanks Tom, tried the £ symbol first but when I enter what you suggested I
get what looks like 2 S's interlinked?!

Are you working live on a server based web?
Does your page have a meta tag similar to
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> ?
(the utf-8 may be different)

If true, it may be that the server is sending a different charset in the
HTTP headers than that defined in the meta tag, and this will cause the
problem.
http://www.rxs-enterprises.org/tests/symbols demonstrates the problem.
 
Make sure you use the numeric keypad to enter the numbers, NOT the
numbers on the top row of the keyboard.

Thanks Craig but doing this I get a square box!

Thanx - think FrontPage overwrote the charset to what you indicated below.
I've changed back to 'charset=windows-1252" which seems to have done the
trick, fingers crossed.
