Characters do not appear in browser

While trying ot send e-mail messages and also fill out
forms on websites, I am having a problem with the letters
of words not appearing after the cursor and the cursor
moving extremely slowly. I run WIN98 and IE6. Also note: I
have re-installed both 3 times already with no result. I
DO NOT have this problem with any other apps. Could
someone PLEASE clue me in (or help me)??? Thanks, Brad
