Sandra

Being a computer novice I sincerely hope there is someone
out there who can help me with Microsoft Works Word
Processor.

Recently the characters I typed became "compressed" and
unlegible. When I type a new letter it begins in the
middle of the last letter typed.

Being a student I use word processing constantly so any
help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks anyone!
Sandra

Open an existing document. Open the Font dialog box from the Format menu.
Click on the Character spacing tab. What are the settings? They should be
Scaling: 100% and the other two should be Normal.

If that has been changed close the dialog box. Select the whole document,
Ctrl+A. Reopen the Font dialog box set the settings as above. Click Okay. If
you open a new document and the settings are different then above set the
correct settings and click the Default button. Say yes to the message. After
that any new documents will use those settings. You will have to change any
existing documents.

The Normal template may be messed up. I don't know. But this will be a
starting point. Fay

Unfortunately, none of this is applicable to *Works*.
