Character in Unreal won't stop moving forward

Any body come across this problem before?
I've run this game perfectly on a 98 machine, but on XP after about 10 secs
of the game, the character simply carries on moving forward and will not stop
no matter what key I press? Does this sound like an issue that service pack
2 would solve or just another XP flaw that I'll have to live with?

Sounds like an issue with Unreal 2 or your keyboard drivers. What keyboard
have you got, any fancy gamer keyboard with it's own software?

I was wondering about that, the keyboard is pretty much standard though, and
came with the PC, it has multimedia keys at the top, but I checked the IRQs
and it isn't conflicting. In the control panel it lists it as a standard
101/102 key.

You might check your system for active mouse, keyboard or joystick software.
I've one time had a problem at home with the original UT that was cleared up
by turning off my joystick profiling software. Since I didn't use the
joystick in UT I didn't miss it.
