I've got a saved DV-AVI file using MM2 - about 50mins. I've also got
MyDVD(LE v5.0) which hasn't got chapter capability.
I was hoping to upgrade my MyDVD to v6.0, but not sure whether I could
import my already created DV-AVI file and create chapters ?
MyDVD v6.0 seems to suggest that you have to go through the process of
capturing and then press space bar on each clip/scene to create
chapters!...
Please could someone point me in the right direction so that I could
create chapters on an already created DV-AVI file...?
Thanks
Sandiyan.

You can definitely import your DV-AVI file into MyDVD.
You can either create chapters manually, like you just outlined, or you can
tell the program to locate the chapters automatically but that doesn't work
very well. The other option is to create chapters that are all [x] minutes
long. I generally go for manually selecting chapter points so I get them
exactly where I want them. But in answer to your question the DV-AVI file
already made will work just fine.

Since I have version 4.5 I have a work around for chapter points. I use MyDVD
strictly for DVD creation and MM strictly for editing. I just make smaller
movies, with fade in/out to black. Then I import my movies separately and
they become chapters themselves. Not the same thing, but it save me money so
I don't have to upgrade.

I do the same thing, sort of.
I don't use MyDVD I use Movie Factory but with Movie Factory I import each
of my movies and the program makes each one a separate chapter.

Thats an interesting tip...Thanks.
What I've done so far... Gone ahead and bought MyDVD 6.0(Stanadard) and
made my first DVD with chapters... sort of!
The problem I have is that ...
- Imported AVI into MyDVD and manually created chapters
- Set the project to view as movie file and burned the DVD
Now when I look at dvd, I can play and skip to chapters but I cannot
see the chapers as part of dvd menu...!

Sandiyan.

Well I don't have version 6.0, I have version 5.2 and I don't use it often.
However I duplicated what you outlined in my version of MyDVD and what it
did was create the chapter points as a sub-menu. If I were to create the DVD
and play it I could reach the chapters by clicking on the thumbnail video
for the main video clip.
If I import separate clips into MyDVD though it created thumbnails to each
one, up to 6, on the main DVD menu with arrows to go to each separate menu.
