Hi,

There are two ways of "theme-ing" Windows XP:

1) The traditional way, as for Windows 9x/ME/2000. You can only alter window
colours, font sizes, styles, etc if you're using the "Classic" GUI, which is
enabled by going to Display Properties, then clicking the "Appearance" tab,
then from "Windows and buttons" selecting "Windows Classic Style" and
clicking "Apply". You can then click the "Advanced" button and pick whatever
combination of colours etc you fancy for the different GUI elements.

2) The new "Luna" GUI of Windows XP, which is what you get by default after
installing the OS, does not allow manipulation of the window colours and
styles in this way, though. It's actually much more powerful in allowing
you almost unlimited scope to redesign the GUI, but by default you're
limited to three styles: "Default (blue)", "Olive Green", and "Silver", all
of which are a bit uninspiring in my opinion. Pick them as in step(1)
above - Display Properties -> Appearance tab -> "Color Scheme" dropdown.
Hundreds of more exciting themes are available for free download on the web;
for example, go to www.themexp.org and have a look at their "Visual Styles".
On the same site you'll find very good instructions on how to enable these
styles: http://www.themexp.org/howto.php. As an alternative to the StyleXP
they mention, try this: http://themes.tucows.nyi.net/preview/310804.html

I hope this helps..
