Hi,
We are looking to change Win NT domain to Win 2000 -
We have two domain servers one running on Win NT and the other running
on Win 2000.
Say, Win NT domain is "A" and that of Win 2000 domain is "B".
There are around 400 NT workstations on domain "A". We want to change
the domains of these NT workstations to domain "B" (Win 2000). The Win
2000 is running in mixed mode, which eliminates the possibility of
using ADMT (Active Directory Management Tool). After working on
different options, one option I thought was to change the domain names
of all the NT workstation to that of Win 2000. My question is,
Whether we can manually change the domain of these NT workstations to
that of domain in Win 2000?
If so, will the NT workstation quietly join the new domain without any
problems?
How do we handle the user profiles?
Any tips on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
sks
