Hi,

When installing a new video card, at what point does one disable the
previous video cards configuration? Is it procedure, to just replace
the old adapter, boot up, and then install drivers? Please, advise.
Thank you.

I don't know about Win XP, but in Win95/98 times, you were generally
instructed to go back to the standard VGA driver before a change

Win98 is the OS, here. Not having changed a video card before I'm
trying to find out how to get through that point where the OS seeks
the old video card and it isn't there. Thanks, for helping me.

Best,

Joe

The way I like to do it is uninstall the drivers. Shutdown the computer,
pull out the old card, put in the new one. Boot up and download and install
the new drivers which may or may not be the same as the old ones.
