Hello all:

Need some assistance... I havce recently configured a new
server as a tree. I want to decommission the old server
that was a tree that had other member servers. How do I
change the member server drom once domain controller/tree
to another.

Thank you inadvance for your assistance in this matter.

John,

There were a couple of typos in your post, but I think I get the gist of
your question. If you are asking how to change a member server from one
domain tree to another, it should be pretty simple:

1. Point the member server for DNS to the DNS server in the domain that you
want it to join (target domain).
2. Then do an ipconfig /flushdns from a command prompt on the member server
to clear that member server's DNS cache.
3. Then on the member server, right click My Computer - go to properties
and then into the Network Identification tab. Then move it to the new
domain.

The process should be that straighforward. Let me know if you have any
other questions.
