Changing to "Native" Mode

I have a Windows 2000 AD currently in "Mixed Mode". I have phased out all my
Windows NT BDC's so I want to switch to "Native" mode. My questions is:
would there be any problmes as far as my netbios domain name goes. For
example if my netbios domain name is currently "abc" what will happen to all
the servers and workstations that are connected with the domain name "abc"
when I go to "Native" mode ( which will change the domain name to abc.com ).
I hope my questions isn't confusing. Appreciate any replies. Thanks

Hi,

The NetBIOS name of the domain will remain. I don't believe any of your
servers or workstations will see any difference.

The switch to native mode does not change the name of your domain. It only
affects replication between the AD DC and NT 4.0 BDCs.

An NT workstation or server can still authenticate to a 2003 native domain,
as long as the LM hash is not disabled.

No. Native (or other modes) have practically NOTHING
to do with client machines.

Such Modes are strictly about the domain controllers and
the changes in features to the AD database and services.

Nothing.

It's irrelevant and unrelated.

No, it is a common misunderstanding that Native and other modes
have something to do with client machines -- which are unrelated
to modes.
