Changing time zones without changing appointemt time

I read through the newsgroup and see the only way seems to be to
export all appointments to CSV and then re-import.

I tried that on 2 different computers, one running Outlook 2000 and
the other running Outlook 2002. In both cases it prevented me from
deleting all my appointments with "The messaging interface...unknown
problem".

I researched this on knowledge base and followed all the instructions.
I updated all Windows and all Office with the auto update.

Then I tried to apply (per MS instructions) the Outlook 2002 update of
October 4, 2001 (olk1004.exe). This resulted in an error by the
Windows Installer (Send/Don't send to Microsoft).

I also tried the built-in Outlook Detect and Repair.

After more than 2 hours and no results, does anyone have a solution
for me? I moved permanently from one time zone to another.
Thanks

Another thing to try: Run the Inbox Repair Tool against your .PST file and
see if it finds any errors. It's a file called scanpst.exe and it should
turn up when you search your hard drive.

Oh I had forgotten to mention that I had tried the scanpst on the pst
on both computers! No errors detected.

I decided to keep both my computers on my old time zone (PST) instead
of AZ time where I am now. Now replies to my emails are showing up as
having been sent before my question!!

I also tried to synch my Palmtop (Treo) and set it for the palmtop to
overwrite the PC after having changed to the correct time zone. But
THAT didn't work because as far as the synch software is concerned no
change was made to the appointments.

The only way that would have worked is for me to delete all Outlook
appointments, but for some reason it doesn't work.

One clue is that it is the same PST originally created with Outlook
97.

Can you create a new .PST file and copy items from the old one to the new?

Yes. That's what I ended up doing last night:

1) Export calendar to csv
2) Change PC to new time zone
3) Create new PST file
4) Import everything using Import from PST file including subfolders.
5) Delete all calendar items
6) Import calendar from previously saved CSV file
7) Rename PST to old one and copy over old one
8) Re-enter all email eccounts manually

PHEW!
