Changing the Status Bar (Outlook 2003)

I just found out that it is not possible to modify the status bar using
Outlook 2002:

Does this limitation also count for Outlook 2003? If not: How do I change
the text in the status bar? Is it possible to show a progress bar?

Yes, Outlook 2003 works the same way. Your add-in can use a userform to display its own progress bar.
