Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what registry keys are needed for the Microsoft Imaging
application to open .tif files from the net? My organisation currently has
quicktime installed on their image of XP, which by default has .tif MIME type
associated with it, but this needs to be changed. By unassociating quicktime
with .tif in the Quicktime MIME settings control panel, the Microsoft Imaging
application opens the .tif files from the web. However I haven't been able to
get this to work by manually changing the registry keys.
I've done a registry snapshot before and after the change so as to find the
modified keys, however merging the changes into the registry stops quicktime
opening the file, but it seems as if it does not complete the change fully.
..tif is still selected in the Quicktime MIME control panel as being
associated with it, however in Internet Explorer the image is not opening in
anything, simply an image place holder appears (with the picture icon in the
top left hand corner).
Does anyone have any ideas? are there any files which need to be modified
along with the registry changes?
many thanks for any suggestions.
Daniel
