Even after I change the name of the last remaining user
on my XP machine, the name of the folder in Documents and
Settings remains the same as before, ie the name of the
main user when computer was set up. Obviously, XP won't
allow me to change the name of this folder manually.
HOW DO I change the name of this folder to reflect the
change in the user name.
I am referring to the user folder in C:\Documents and
Settings.

Hi Pedro,

Yes, one and the same Kelly. :o)

As for your issue, no.....you can't change the Docs and Settings name
without creating another account/profile and copying it over to salvage. In
other words, it will stay John until done.

And no, my script(s) can change Computer name, Registered to, Office and
re-name My Computer according to User Name but not change the name for Docs
and Settings.

Good luck, Pedro.

Kelly from Kelly's Corner? I use your site all the time, didnt find answer
to my problem this time though. I don't know if I explained myself well
though. Here it is...really simply.
I have only one XP user when I set up computer, say JOHN. Well the folders
in Documents and setting are JOHN and All Users. Ok, now I rename this user
to MARY in the Users and Groups Control Panel. User changes name to MARY
everywhere it should EXCEPT for the folder in Documents and Settings which
stays as JOHN. Is that what you had understood? So it will stay as JOHN
forever? Is your "Change Computer Name" script supposed to change that
folder name too?
