Changing the file editor

Under Windows XP I could associate different programs to do different actions
on each file type, e.g. open, print, edit etc. These actions would appear on
the context (right click) menu for files of that type.

Now I want to change HTML files to edit with my own editor rather than with
Word as they do now. All I can find however are settings to change the
default program to open files with. Any one know how I can change the edit
action in Vista?

Cheers,

i use editplus and got like you into this annoying feature of vista. hope
they will fix it up in sp1. windows users are used to tune the system on
their wishes. i'd like to tell vista that for png i use photoshop, for png
irfanview and for bmp paint or paint.net, no matter what any of these sets.
so far i couldnt discover how i can, but for dragging the files into the
program window.

workaround:
in firefox (and ie7 if you like it) set the default html editor with your
program. ie has an option in tools > options > programs. for firefox, use
the plugin ViewSourceWith.

editplus also can show itself in the context menu in explorer. which if you
dont want to load first the page in the browser is definitely quicker.
