Changing the desktop icons

I'm wondering if there is a way to change the distance windows(XP) keeps the
icons on the desktop. Further explaining: When "Grid Aligned" is checked
there's X amount of pixels the desktop icons are seperated by. Is there a
way to change this value?

Click [Start]
Settings
Control Panel
Display
Appearance tab
[Advanced] button
Under Item: select "Icon Spacing (Horizontal)"
Change the Size
Under Item: select "Icon Spacing (Vertical)"
Change the Size
Click [OK]
Click [OK]

This is stored in the registry under:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics\IconSpacing
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics\IconVerticalspacing
