Hi there

I am trying to change the default print settings for Powerpoint
slides. Any ideas how? I want to set the properties to Landscape and
from Letter size to Legal, but I have to change it everytime I reopen
my slides. Thanks for your help!

I'm a little puzzled, Ben.

You've replied to Kathy's post but not answered any of her questions.
W/o the answers, it's hard to help.

Sorry about that. I'm new to google groups and I didn't see my
message posted. I thought I posted a new message to ask the question
again, but I somehow replied ot my old message. weird. Anyways...

1. I'm using Office 2000
2. File => Print => Properties
3. This happens to any documents, really. I've tried opening a new
Powerpoint slide and saving it as blank with no template or text and
it still will not save changes to the printing format.

Thanks and sorry about that first response.

No biggie, it happens.

The Properties button on PowerPoint's (and nearly every other app's) print dialog box isn't
really a PPT feature, it's a back door to the printer driver's settings with one important
difference: changes you make here apply only to the current session of the current
application.

You can change it permanently from Start, Settings, Printers and setting the printer's
defaults.

PowerPoint only maintains the slide size and orientation and happily prints it to any paper
size you choose from the printer driver settings. The two are quite different in PPT.
