Changing the default line color to black in Powerpoint 2007

The default line color (for shapes) in Powerpoint 2007 seems to be
blue. Not only is it viewable in blue but it prints in blue. I am
unable to permanently set the default line color to black. If anyone
has any ideas I would appreciate it. Thanks!

In PowerPoint's theme colors you will find two sets of text-background color
combinations. The first one is usually black and white, the second one may
have blue as the dark color. Which one is used depends on the design colors
you choose and the slide background you choose. If you did not change
anything, PowerPoint should use black as a default. Did you change the
design colors or do you use the Office color scheme?

In addition to what Ute explained, you can format a shape the way you want
it, then right-click and "set as default shape."

And as a related aside...

In a nice difference from PPT 2003, if you create a textbox, you get "save
as default text box" on the right-click menu -- and you can add a line and
fill to that textbox and those will now be included as part of the default
textbox settings. Finally! Finally! It finally works the way it should have
worked for years.
