I would like to know how to change the default browser in Windows XP from Internet Explorer to MSN. could some one tell me where the control point is.

Press Start>Control Panel (classic view)>task Bar and Start Menu>START MENU
tab
make sure the first one is selected that says START MENU
then press customize

under SHOW ON START MENU select internet (if its not already selected) and
choose MSN explorer press ok and ok again.

tell me if this helps

click on tools | Options in internet explorer.
then click on programs
then enable the checkbox "IE should check to see if it is the default browser"
Then close it
click on start | Run and then type Iexplore
u will be prompted whether u want to set IE as the default.
Click yes and henceforth IE will be ur default browser.
