Hi,
I edited a 4-minute long movie with about 60 clips (2 with effects), no transitions and about 3 text screens. It is based on about 3Gb videofiles, mainly in the format DV-avi. Moviemaker often crashed during the edit and when I was finished I ran into the problem described by PapaJohn where it cant create the movie and claims that there is either too little harddisk space or some sourced files were missing.
I guessed that this was because the source files were so large (that moviemakers is designed to work with small wmv files). So, I batch converted all avi files into wmv files, moved the avi files and pointed moviemaker to the new wmv files. The problem I run into now is that moviemaker claims that the new file is not similar enough. Since the length is identlical I guess this is due to the filesize, which is dramatically different (it it not the wmv. extension becuase I get the same error with wmv-encoded avi files).
Does anyone know a way to work around this? I realised that it is possible to export my project into DV-avi format so I can continue with the avi files that I have, but I would much rather work with wmv files since it goes faster and it doesn't seem to crash as much.
Thanks in advance,
Eri
